I’m excited to announce that I am now a crochet teacher at Mosaic Yarn Studio in Des Plaines Illinois! I’ll be teaching private lessons, beginning crochet and various project classes. The African Flower purse above is one of the one day workshops I’ll be teaching, as well as the Elise Shawl and Little Leaves Scarf from my last post. Visit Mosaic’s website to see the class schedule.
I found a really easy free hat pattern on Ravelry called Just Like That Hat by Jenn Wolfe. Worked in chunky weight yarn it looks nice with self-striping yarns and it’s a really quick project that can be made in a day. If you’re new to crochet this would be a good first project to learn crocheting in the round.
This hat was made with half a skein of Ella Rae Seasons yarn, make one for yourself and one for a friend. For more technical details visit my Ravelry project page.
Our Crochet Guild of America chapter, Crochet Connection of Chicago, staffed a table at Vogue Knitting Live this month. We demonstrated various crochet techniques, answered questions and shared our love of crochet.
Here’s a little coin purse I designed to demonstrate Tapestry Crochet. I finished it at home by adding a zipper.
This is the only skein of yarn I bought at Vogue Knitting Live, from Long Island Livestock Company. Tom and Jerry are the contributing alpacas. Tabethia got points for wearing a crocheted cowl made with this beautiful yarn and offering a pattern for it.
I’m in the middle of several projects and I’ll be back to report on them soon.
Until then I leave you with this photo of Louis assisting with the construction of a crochet project.
